Muralipura: 10-year-old girl raped in marriage garden toilet; snacks stall contractor arrested

Jaipur: A man was arrested for raping a 10-year-old girl in the toilet of a marriage garden in Muralipura area of the city while an engagement ceremony was being organized there. The incident took place on Sunday night. After the matter came to light, the police arrested the suspect, identified as Raju alias Munnilal on Monday. He was traced on the basis of footages of video cameras being used for the shoot. Raju was the contractor for the snack stalls.

The girl had come to attend the engagement ceremony with her parents. The accused took her to a toilet in the marriage garden on some pretext, gagged her with his hands and then raped her.

The parents started searching for the girl when they found her missing. The girl was found in the toilet bleeding from her private parts. The girl was taken to a private hospital. She was referred to JK Lon Hospital due to her critical condition.

It is believed that the girl cried for help, but no one could hear her screams due to the loud music being played during the function.

“We got the video footages of the function and tracked the girl’s activity. We saw Raju taking the girl towards the toilet. We questioned nearly 30 people and when it was confirmed that Raju had raped the girl, we arrested him. He has confessed to the crime. He has been booked under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act,” said a police officer.
