Mukesh Ambani to attend Priyanka-Nick wedding in Jodhpur; Airport kept functional till midnight

Jaipur: Billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani along with daughter Isha, son Anant, and daughter-in-law Shloka reached Jodhpur late night on Friday in a special charter plane to attend the wedding of Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and American Singer Nick Jonas at Umaid Bhawan Palace, scheduled on December 2.

Jodhpur Airport was kept open till almost midnight with special permission of Ministry of Civil Aviation for the family’s arrival. The Indian Airport Authorities and security personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) also remained on duty till late night on Friday.

The opening hours of the Jodhpur Airport are from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm due to the lack of staff. No flight has permission to land at Jodhpur airport after 6:00 pm and before 9:30 am. The Ambani family reached the airport around 10:00 pm.

Jodhpur airport has been kept open with special orders from the Ministry of Civil Aviation several times in the past too. A few days ago, the airport was kept open for musician Kailash Khair at 6 am.

More than 200 guests from the film fraternity and Hollywood reached Jodhpur on Thursday and Friday to attend the most awaited weddings of the year.

The security arrangements have been beefed up outside Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. Guests are receiving a royal and grand welcome at the palace.

The celebrity couple will get hitched in a traditional Indian ceremony on December 2. Wedding ceremonies in a church will take place on Dec 1. The couple will host two lavish receptions for their families and friends, in Mumbai and Delhi. The Delhi reception will be on December 4 for Priyanka’s relatives.
