Mohanlal Gupta appointed BJP Jaipur district president

The party has replaced Sanjay Jain with former MLA Mohanlal Gupta. MLA Ramlal Sharma has been appointed as north zone city’s head and Ramanand Gurjar as south zone city’s head.

Jaipur: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has changed 15 district presidents on Monday keeping in view the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.  Jaipur district has been divided into three parts and Mohanlal Gupta has been appointed as new president of Jaipur district.

The party has replaced Sanjay Jain with former MLA Mohanlal Gupta. MLA Ramlal Sharma has been appointed as north zone city’s head and Ramanand Gurjar as south zone city’s head.

BJP faced a defeat in Assembly elections 2018 and mayor elections, after which the former Jaipur district’s head Sanjay Jain has been replaced with Gupta.

According to the sources, Mohanlal Gupta has a strong influence in the Vaishya society and he has also been the first mayor of Jaipur City. The BJP wants to use Gupta’s grip for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Brahmin and Vaishya communities are both equally influential in Jaipur.

BJP leaders Rajyapal Singh Shekhawat, Arun Chaturvedi, and Narpat Singh Rajvi were in Gupta’s support while the leaders including Ashok Parnami, Surendra Parnami, and Kalicharan Singh Saraf were in Jain’s support for Jaipur District.

A total of 12 constituencies come under Jaipur rural. Amer, Chomu, Kotpulti, Viratnagar, Jamwa Ramgarh, Shahpura have been categorized into North Zone and Phulera, Dudu, Bagru, Chaksu, Jhotwara and Bassi in South zone.

  13. Sirohi – Narayan Purohit
