MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma cremated with state honours
The eyes of many supporters in Sardarshahar welled up when they saw his last remains on Sunday evening.

JAIPUR: The body of Sardarshahar MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma was created with state honours at a cremation centre in his hometown on Monday. The last rites were attended by chief minister Ashok Gehlot and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje among many other senior politicians. Bhanwar Lal Sharma had passed away at SMS Hospital in Jaipur on Sunday.
The eyes of many supporters in Sardarshahar welled up when they saw his last remains on Sunday evening. They stood in support of the family members of Sharma who were inconsolable at the sight of his body that arrived in his hometown in the evening.
A huge crowd of his supporters reached the town to get the last glimpse of Sharma. The supporters had come from nearby villages and distant rural areas. Chief minister Gehlot reached the town in a helicopter around 3.20 pm. Many ministers and MLAs had already arrived by then.
Former CM Vasundhara Raje, along with MP Rahul Kaswan reached Sardarshahar from Bikaner by helicopter around noon. Raje said that Sharma was recognized as a very honest public leader.
The last remains of the MLA reached his farmhouse located on Taranagar Road from Tal Maidan at one o’clock in the afternoon. The procession passed through the main market and bus stand and reached his farmhouse at 4.15 pm. He was then cremated with state honours.
Shyam Lal Sharma, younger brother of MLA Sharma, said that the legislator was cremated with state honours in Sardarshahar cremation centre, located on Taranagar Road. Many political personalities including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and former CM Vasundhara Raje were present.
