JAIPUR: A harrowing case of a minor girl’s gang rape has emerged in Jaipur, where the 15-year-old victim was brought by her mother-in-law with the promise of living with her husband. Instead, over a period of 10 days, two young men repeatedly raped the girl in a flat while her mother-in-law was aware of the situation. The victim escaped her captors and lodged a complaint at Vaishali Nagar police station, where ACP Alok Kumar has taken charge of the investigation.

The girl, a resident of Bangladesh, had been living in a flat near Hotel Raj Palace in Vaishali Nagar for about 15 days. Her mother-in-law had brought her to India via Kolkata and Mumbai around a month prior. The two assailants, whose names are unknown to the victim, reportedly forcibly raped her over 10 days.

After escaping the daily abuse, the girl fled to Ajmer by bus on April 10th. Upon arrival, she filed a complaint at the Clock Tower police station, detailing her traumatic experience. Following the zero number FIR at Clock Tower police station, the case was transferred to Vaishali Nagar police station in Jaipur.

Authorities have registered a report under the POCSO Act and named the mother-in-law as an accused in the gang rape case. The investigation continues as police work to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide support to the young victim.
