Jaipur: The crime branch of Jaipur police commissionerate has busted the gang involved in robbing an employee of the Miraj Group Food Mart agency of Rs 45 lakh. The cops arrested six men including the driver of the agency who had allegedly planned the robbery. The robbers had bought a luxury car from the booty and were on their way to Goa for a vacation when they were arrested by the crime branch. The cops gave the robbers a chase for nearly 60 hours. The CCTV footages from the area played a key role in identifying the robbers, police officials said.

The robbery took place 10 days ago. The employee identified as Naresh Saini walked out of the office along with a coworker with the day’s collection. The victim sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment in critical condition. The loot created panic in the area.

The food mart is located in Mangyawas area of Mansarovar. The robbery took place outside the food mart nearly 10 days ago. An employee of the mart – Naresh Saini – was carrying nearly Rs 45 lakh, while the coworker had Rs 8 lakh in another bag. As soon as they came out of the office, four men on two bikes approached him and opened firing. He sustained bullet injures near his waist. The robbers snatched the bag from Naresh and rode away.

The robbers were arrested from Satara district in Maharashtra.

The key accsed – Deendayal Jat – had been working as a driver at the food mart for the past 10 years, according to Add commissioner of police Prafulla Kumar.

He knew the routine of Naresh Saini and co-worker Ram Singh. “He knew that both the employees collected the money from the food mart every night. Deendayal shared this information with his brother-in-law Rajneesh who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh and planned the robbery. Some other criminals including Gajendra alias Monu Jat, Rahul Sharma Abhay Sharma and Ankit who belong to Dholpur and Gwaliar also joined the gang,” said the officer.

The robbers left for Dholpur after the robbery and were planning a vacation in Goa after sharing the booty among themselves.

They bought a car from Delhi. The car has been recovered.

“We got the clue about the robbers from CCTV footages and our informants. We first identified Rahul and Gajendra  who were familiar with the area as they were living in rented accommodation in Mansarovar,” said the officer.
