Loot and firing in Sodala’s Nandpuri area: Man shot dead

The victim was a Saras dairy cash collection agent. When he was collecting cash, some youths on a bike came there and opened fire at him. They also snatched away his bag and then fled the spot.

Jaipur: A man, identified as Omprakash Sharma (50), was shot dead by bike borne assailants in Nandpuri area of Sodala in Jaipur on Monday afternoon, according to preliminary reports.

The victim was a Saras dairy cash collection agent. When he was collecting cash, three men on a bike came there and opened fire at him. They tried to snatch his bag, but when they couldn’t, they fled the spot.

The daylight robbery that took place at Nandpuri Street Number – 8 created panic among nearby shopkeepers and residents. After the robbers fled the spot, the locals informed the police. The victim who had sustained bullet injuries was rushed to SMS Hospital Trauma Center where he died while undergoing treatment. His family members also arrived at the hospital and accused the administration of negligence.

A police was immediately rushed to the spot. They are yet to catch robbers. A police officer said that an investigation has been launched to ascertain the identity of the robbers.

Barricades have been put up across the city and bikes were being checked.

The incidents of robbery with collection agents have become quite rampant. In August, three men had robbed the employee of a milk supplier of Rs 9.54 lakh near near Mahaveer Nagar Dalda Factory. The police had arrested the accused.

The victim was collecting money from booths near Mahaveer Nagar Dalda Factory when three people on two bikes came there and attacked him with iron rods. They snatched away the bag containing Rs 9.54 lakh.
