Liquor ban imposed in Rajasthan for two days ahead of assembly elections 2018

The election campaigning in Rajasthan has come to a half at 5 pm on Wednesday. A ban on liquor sale and consumption will be in force for two days.

Jaipur: The election campaigning in the state has completely come to a halt on Wednesday at 5 pm ahead of Rajasthan elections 2018, scheduled on December 7. A ban on the sale and consumption of liquor has also been imposed in the state which will continue till Friday evening.

All the political parties and their leaders went the extra mile on the last of the campaigning to woo the voters. Road shows, press conferences and public rallies marked the day in all the assembly constituencies of Rajasthan.

The election campaigning in Rajasthan has come to an end and the liquor sale and consumption will be banned in the state for two days.

According to a report, the Deputy Commissioner declared dry days in Rajasthan from December 5 evening to December 7 evening under Section 144 of the CrPC.

Muktsar Deputy Commissioner MK Arvind Kumar said that the sale and consumption of liquor would be banned from 5 pm on December 5 to 5 pm on December 7. The ban would be imposed on vote counting day as well, he added.

The Rajasthan assembly elections 2018 will be held on December 7 from 8 am to 5 pm in the state for 199 assembly seats. The election results will be declared on December 11.
