Leopard once again on prowl in Jaipur, mauls cattle to death
Scare in the city's Harmara area after mauled bodies of two goats were found on Monday morning.

Jaipur: A leopard strayed into a village near Harmara in Jaipur and killed two goats on Sunday night. As the villagers woke up on Monday, they saw the dead bodies of the animals. It caused panic in the area. A police team visited the village and informed the forest department officials when pugmarks of a leopard were spotted. The cops have advised villagers to be on guard.
“Leopard movement was reported in Kumawaton Ki Dhani area of Bhagwat Nagar in Harmara. It must have strayed from nearly hills in search of food. The villagers found mauled bodies of two goats. Based on the pugmarks, we are sure that the animals were killed by a leopard,” said a police officer.
Leopards straying into the residential areas in and around Jaipur has become a headache for the forest department recently. The leopards are straying into the city in search of food and water, officials said.
A panther had strayed into Smriti Van, a popular jogging and hang out destination in the city, from nearly Jhalana forest.
The garden was closed and made out of bounds for visitors for several days due to the scare.
