JAIPUR: A key aide of Lawrence Bishnoi, identified as Ritik Boxer, has claimed responsibility for opening fire in G Club located in the posh Jawahar Circle area near Airport Plaza in Jaipur. The police suspect that the firing was meant to scare the owner and have him pay protection money of Rs 1 crore.
The incident took place on Saturday night. Known criminal Ritik Boxer has taken the responsibility for firing. He threatened on social media that everyone’s number would come.
Ritik Boxer, a 20-year-old youth, is a resident of Hanumangarh and has more than eight criminal cases registered with the police. The first FIR against Ritik was registered with the Jawahar Circle police station in Jaipur in 2019. After this, more cases are registered against him at Shipra Path, Shri Ganganagar Sadar, Raisingh Nagar, Haryana, and Hanumangarh Junction police station. He claims to be a key aide of Lawrence Bishnoi.
Around 12 o’clock on Saturday night, three shooters who came on a bike started firing from at the club, creating panic in the area. The shooters fired about 17 rounds. The police reached the spot, but the miscreants had fled from the spot by that time.
The accused had earlier conducted a recce of the club. They kept on firing for about four-five minutes. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV installed outside the club.
Police are raiding Ritik’s possible hideouts. Some people inside the club were having food when the firing incident occurred.
