Last date for applying for drug shop license online extended to Jan 31
The scheme had been launched a few months ago, but there were issues with the online licensing process. The matter of the appointment of registrar for the Rajasthan Pharmacy Council was being heard by a court. Many shop owners couldn’t apply for license online. They will now be able to do so till January 31.

Jaipur: Wholesale and retail medicine shop owners will now be able to apply for renewal of their license from the comfort of their homes. The last date has been extended to Jan 31.
The scheme had been launched a few months ago, but there were issues with the online licensing process. The matter of the appointment of registrar for the Rajasthan Pharmacy Council was being heard by a court. Many shop owners couldn’t apply for license online. They will now be able to do so till January 31.
The facility will benefit nearly 47,000 retailers and wholesalers in the state.
Those who apply online will be provided a ticket number which they can use to know the status of their license application. The license will be prepared within a duration of 20 days.
Drug controller (first) Ajay Phatak said that the facility is currently available in many other states including Delhi, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
The documents required to be submitted with the application can be uploaded through e-mitra centers to the drug controller department’s website. Fees can also be paid online.
Officials and employees of the drug controller office are being imparted training to handle and process applications for drug license in Rajasthan online.
