Kota: Over 200 Congress, BJP workers booked for stone pelting

Kota police has booked over 200 Congress and BJP leaders and their supporters in connection with stone pelting on Gaurav Yatra taken out by Sangod MLA Heeralal at Kundanpur village two days ago.

Jaipur: Kota police has booked over 200 Congress and BJP leaders and their supporters in connection with stone pelting on Gaurav Yatra taken out by Sangod MLA Heeralal at Kundanpur village two days ago.

Local Congress and BJP leaders filed FIRs with the local police station late on Monday.

The FIR was lodged against Congress leaders Surendra Gurjar, Ramakant Sharma, Naresh Gurjar, village Sarpanch Krishna Murari Sain, Sunil, Hemant Mandhap, Raju Gurjar, Prithviraj Singh, Dinesh, Giriraj, Sunil and Manoj Mehra and several Congress workers.

On the other hand, Congress leaders filed the FIR against over 100 BJP leaders and workers including Om Adhusa, Manoj Sharma, Satya Narayan, Kunjbihari, Ghanshyam, Tulsiram and Bhanupratap.

The Congress workers staged a sit-in after MLA Heeralal’s tour passed through the village. Former Congress minster Bharat Singh also reached the village after getting information about the incident.

As reported earlier, a group of people – allegedly some Congress workers – pelted stones at Gaurav Yatra being taken out by Sangod MLA Heeralal Nagar on Monday. The tour was on its way to Kundanpur in Kota district when the incident took place. Police had to resort to lathicharge to disperse the crowd of protestors. Many Congress and BJP workers got injured during the incident.
