Kota NEET aspirant commits suicide in Jaipur by jumping in front of train

Jaipur: A student preparing for NEET in Kota committed suicide by jumping in front of a train near at Khatipura railway station in Jaipur. The deceased recorded the audio message as a suicide note before he took the extreme step. Based on the audio message, his family members registered a case against a girl from Bandikui and her family, accusing them of abatement to suicide.

The deceased was identified as Rahul Jatav (25) of Jaipur. After a preliminary investigation, the police said that he was in a relationship with a girl and there had been some tension between the two for some time. The body was handed over to the relatives after a post-mortem examination on Friday afternoon.

Rahul had sent the audio message to his friend. He requested the friend to forward the message to his parents after 20 minutes so that they knew about his suicide. Based on the audio message, the father of the deceased registered a case with the Khoh Nagorian police station.

Police said that Rahul Jatav’s father Patiram, a resident of Asha Vihar Luniawas Khoh Nagorian, is a librarian in a private college. Rahul was preparing for NEET in Kota. Rahul reached Khatipura railway station at around 5:15 pm on Thursday. He jumped in front of a moving train and committed suicide.

In the recording, Rahul accused his girlfriend Suman (name changed) and her family of torturing him. He alleged that Suman was threatening to commit suicide and implicate him in the case. He said that he didn’t want to commit suicide but he had no options. He was distressed by the torture.

Patiram, the father of the deceased, has registered a case of abetment to suicide against Suman, her father Dinesh, mother Pushpa, brother Jeetram, uncle Babulal and aunt Geeta. According to police, Rahul was currently staying in Kota and preparing for NEET.

Patiram, the father of the deceased, said that on May 11, Suman had come to Kota at Rahul’s room without informing the family members and stayed there for two days. He then visited Suman’s house and called his father from there. He told his family members that Suman and her family tortured him and threatened to file a police case against him. The father also accused the girl’s family of demanding Rs 5 lakh.
