Jaipur: A man identified as Prakash Chand Jain, and his two sons – Tarun Jain and Anil – were run over by a train under Dhan Mandi flyover in Kota on Thursday morning. Police suspect that the man and his two sons committed suicide by jumping in front of the train. The police, however, didn’t recover a suicide note from the spot. The officials said that a probe has been launched.

Prakash Chand and his two sons live at a rented accommodation in Sriram Nagar in Kota. The incident took place around 6.30 am.

“Some people informed the police control room when a train ran over the three victims. A police team from Udhyog Nagar police station was immediately rushed to the spot. The bodies were completely mutilated, but we found an ID card that helped us identify Praksh Chand Jain. The two sons were later identified as Tarun and Anil,” said a police officer.

Prima-facie, the police suspect that Prakash Chand jumped in front of the train and committed suicide along with his two sons; however, since no suicide note was recovered, the police are yet to reach a conclusion.

“We are contacting the family members and relatives and will try to ascertain what actually happened. We are also studying footages of CCTVs installed in the area,” said the officer.

The family members were informed after the victims were identified. The bodies have been put in the mortuary of a hospital for a postmortem examination.
