Kota history-sheeter murder: over 15 bullets fired by assailants

Jaipur: An FIR against Four identified and several other unidentified people was lodged in connection with the murder of Ranveer Choudhary in a suspected gangwar in Kota. Those who were named include Peer Mohammed, Ajay Hada, Harun and Tipu. Police said that over 15 bullets were fired at Ranveer Choudhary from three different guns.

“Ranveer was a history sheeter of Mahaveer Nagar police station in Kota and had over 16 police cases registered against him. He had been involved in many disputed land deals which could have been the motive behind his murder,” said a police officer.

The officer said that Ranveer was a resident of Anta area in Baran. He was associated with Bhanu gang in Kota. The police are investigating whether a supremacy fight led to his murder.

“We suspect he might have been ambushed by nearly a dozen people who  fired at him indiscriminately. We are searching for the accused men named in the FIRs registered by Ranveers’ family members,” said the officer.

Sources said that some members of the rival Shivraj gang was also under scanner; however, the police haven’t got any concrete leads.

A postmortem report indicated that many of the bullets fired by assailants pierced Ranveer’s body.
