Jaipur: Pushkar police sized 280 bottles of Ketamine and arrested two local smugglers. It is for the first time that Ketamine – a psychotropic drug – was seized in Pushkar – a popular destination among foreign tourists.
The police suspect involvement of an international gang of smugglers. They said that an intense investigation has been launched to expose the international racket involved in Ketamine smuggling.
Pushkar ASP Kishan Singh Bhati said that the local police has launched a campaign against drug smuggling in the holy city.
“We got a tip-off that two youths were trying to sell Ketamine on Panchkund Road in Pushkar on Friday night. The two smugglers – identified as Nikhil Soni and Bharat Gancha – were arrested. About 280 bottles filled with Ketamine were seized from their possession,” said the officer.
The officer said that Nikhil and Akhil are being investigated for their links with international smugglers.
“They supplied drugs not only in Pushkar, but to some other countries also,” said the officer.
The officer added that both have been booked under various sections of the NDPS Act.
