Suicide, accident or foul play: Judicial magistrate Prkhar Sandal who was found dead in Jodhpur

Jaipur: The body of a 37-year-old judicial magistrate posted in Chauhtan area of Barmer was found floating in Lal Sagar pond of Jodhpur under mysterious circumstances late on Tuesday. The police said that they have launched an investigation into his death. The magistrate, identified as Prakhar Sandal, was allegedly depressed over the pro-longed illness of his father who has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment for the past few days. The police are investigating whether Prakhar committed suicide.

The magistrate was living in Kirti Nagar in Jodhpur and originally hailed from Himachal Pradesh. He wished everyone when he left office on Monday and told his staff that he would join on January 4. Prakhar had left home in the morning and went incommunicado.

His father is retired from the postal department, while his mother was a teacher at a private school. Father Ramnath has a clotting in his brain. He is currently admitted in a hospital and his condition is stated to be critical.

After recovering the body, a postmortem examination was conducted on Wednesday and the body was handed over to the family members.
