JMC vehicle catches fire in full public view near Triton Mall, panic among commuters

Fire tenders trying to douse fire that engulfed a JMC vehicle in front of Triton Mall near Chomu Pulia
Jaipur: A vehicle of Jaipur Municipal Corporation caught fire in front of Tritan Mall – Hyper City near Jhotwara flyover on Tuesday, creating panic among commuters. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. Officials said that it was under investigation as to what caused the fire. People thought that a car had caught fire so they were concerned about the safety of the passenger. JMC officials, however said that no one was injured in the mishap and the driver is safe.
According to the police, the JMC vehicle used for carrying garbage was stationed outside the Suncity Triton Mall – previously known as Hyper City near Chomu Pulia. It suddenly caught fire and was completely gutted within a few minutes.
“The driver and some commuters immediately informed the police control room following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot. They managed to douse the fire,” said a JMC officer.
As the vehicle was parked near the road connecting Jhotwara flyover and Chomu Pulia, the commuters made video of the incident.
“We are trying to find out what caused the fire. It has been doused, but the vehicle is completely gutted. Since it was carrying garbage, the fire spread quickly. Thankfully no one was hurt,” said the officer.
