JMC elections 2019: Results of ward reservation lottery to be announced today

Jaipur: The district administration will announce the results of reservation lottery for 150 wards of the city on Wednesday. There will 25 wards reserved for ST and ST categories. Of them, eight will be reserved for women candidates.
“Thirty-two wards will be reserved for OBC and 93 for general category. The JMC board will have 150 corporators this year. Of them, 50 will be women corporators. The women candidates can fight in non-reserved wards also,” said a senior district administration officer.
Wards – 83, 106, 78, 88, 117, 61, 96, 82, 18, 95, 62, 85, 137, 31, 1, 81, 75, 113 and 89 will likely be reserved for SC candidates.
Wards – 79, 74, 76, 108, 80 and 83 will likely be reserved for ST candidates.
The lottery results will be announced by noon. The process will be conducted in presence of the representatives of political parties.
MLA of Sanganer constituency and former mayor Ashok Lahoti said that lottery results shouldn’t announced before the discrepancies in ward delimitation are not sorted out.
