JLN Medical College doctor commits suicide by jumping in front of train in Ajmer

It has come up during preliminary investigation that the doctor was a senior demonstrator in the anatomy department at Jawahar Lal Nehru (JNL) Medical College and had been into a love affair with a student for the past three years.

Jaipur:  A doctor, identified as Vineet Dhaneria, committed suicide by jumping in front of a train near Kalyanpura railway crossing in Alwar Gate police station area of Ajmer on Sunday.

Police officials said that the investigation into the suicide was still going on. It has come up during preliminary investigation that the doctor was a senior demonstrator in the anatomy department at Jawahar Lal Nehru (JNL) Medical College. A suicide note was found from the clothes found on the body. In the note, the doctor stated that he was taking his life for his own sake and no one should be bothered for this.

The doctor was a resident of Bhagwanganj area in Ajmer. He left home after telling his family members that he was going to his unoccupied plot for an inspection and would return in a couple of hours.

“The investigation is still on. Nothing could be said at this stage,” said a police officer.

The police are recording the statement of the doctor’s colleagues, students and family members. They are also examining the call details records. The police have found that the deceased was undergoing treatment for depression. They are collecting records of the treatment.

After Dhaneria jumped in front of a moving goods train, some passers-by informed the police. A police team from Alwar Gate police station rushed to the spot and identified the body on the basis of some ID documents found in the victim’s possession. A postmortem examination has been conducted. The body was handed over to family members.
