3 new art galleries to open at JKK in Jaipur

Jaipur: Budding artists will now have a chance to showcase their talent on a much large scale in Jaipur. Three newly-renovated art galleries of international standards will soon be available at Jawahar Kala Kendra for them to organize exhibitions.

The renovation work for the art galleries has been completed. The art galleries will be available for exhibitions by budding as well as established artists from the around country from January 20. The JKK administration has planned to organize a video art exhibition to mark the inauguration.

JKK director Puja Sood told media persons that the art galleries were being renovated. “The renovation work is now complete and they will be available for exhibitions from January 20,” Sood said.

Since the art galleries meet international standards, the artists will get a chance to showcase their talent on a larger scale.

The opening of the galleries will be marked by the exhibition of the work of renowned late artist Mani Kaul by his family members and friends.

Video artist Ranbir Singh Kaleka will also showcase his art in visual form. The exhibitions will go on for two months so that the work of artists could be promoted properly. A talk show on video art is also on the cards.

Mita Vashishtha will stage a play during the exhibition. The famous play series ‘Idiot’ which draw critics’ attention to the talent of superstar Shah Rukh Khan at the beginning of his career will be presented through plays by Mita.

The exhibition also includes classic celluloid films made by Mani Kaul between 1970 and 1980.
