JIET Universe organized National Hackathon 'Reckon 6.0' Drawing Tech Enthusiasts to Jodhpur

Jaipur: A 24-hour national-level hackathon, Reckon 6.0, brought together students, developers, designers, and tech enthusiasts from across the country at JIET Universe in Jodhpur. Organized by the institute’s Developer Student Club (DSC), the event saw participation from 100 teams—nearly 400 individuals—working to develop innovative hardware and software solutions to real-world problems.

The hackathon was inaugurated by Prof. Bhabani Kumar Satapathy of IIT Jodhpur, who served as the chief guest. Other notable guests included Dr. Neha Jain, PIC (TISC) of IIT Jodhpur; Manisha Chauhan, Deputy Director of I-Start Jodhpur; Manish Garg, Senior Manager at UltraTech Cement; Sanjana Malhotra, Assistant Director at JIET Universe; and Yogesh Mathur, CEO of Lucid Outsourcing.

Participants tackled challenges in various categories, including fintech, healthcare, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AIML), edutech, gaming, IoT, accessibility, and sustainability. All teams were registered on the platform Unstop, and industry experts provided mentorship throughout the event. The projects were evaluated based on idea validation, feasibility, and scalability as a business model. “The quality of ideas and execution we witnessed was remarkable,” said Dr. Sanjay Bhandari, one of the hackathon coordinators. “The participants showcased a deep understanding of real-world applications.”

After a rigorous evaluation process, Team DronaAI, led by Aviral Shukla from LNMIIT Jaipur, was declared the winner, earning a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The runner-up title went to Team Kaalastra, led by Nitesh Kumar from IIIT Kota, which received Rs 30,000. Team Zunisha, led by Keshav Agarwal from JIET Jodhpur, secured the second runner-up position and was awarded Rs 20,000.

The panel of judges included industry professionals such as Vignesh Mohan from AU Small Finance Bank, Raunak Singhvi from I-Start Jodhpur, Pallav Maheshwari from Span Idea, Mayank Gupta from Reliable Soft, and Avinash from Prospiretech. Dr. Avnish Bora, Director of JIET Jodhpur, along with other guests, presented awards to the winners.

In addition to the top prizes, winners were also recognized in specific categories. Team The Ascent won in the Accessibility category, while Team Unit 13 topped AIML. Team DronaAI also led the Edutech category, and Team Augmentra emerged victorious in Fintech. Other category winners included Team Matrix (Gaming), Team Kaalastra (Healthcare), Team Innov8Hers (IoT), Team The Thunderbolts (Threeway), Team IF (Sustainability), Team UrmiVR (Toynik), and Team Brocode (Web3).

The event highlighted the growing enthusiasm for technological innovation among students and young professionals. “It’s inspiring to see so many bright minds collaborating to solve pressing challenges,” said Vivek Sharma, one of the event coordinators. “Hackathons like these provide a glimpse into the future of tech-driven solutions.”

As Reckon 6.0 concluded, participants walked away not only with prizes but also with valuable experience, industry connections, and ideas that may shape the future of technology.
