JIET, Jodhpur hosts 2-day international conference on deep learning and visual AI

Participants, speakers, and dignitaries at the two-day international conference on “Deep Learning and Visual Artificial Intelligence” hosted at JIET, Jodhpur.

Jodhpur: The Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology (JIET) hosted a two-day international conference on “Deep Learning and Visual Artificial Intelligence”, bringing together researchers, academicians, and industry experts from India and abroad to discuss the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence. The conference was held in hybrid mode, allowing participation both on campus and online, and focused on emerging global trends, practical applications, and future research directions in AI and deep learning.

Over the course of the conference, more than 50 research papers were presented across seven technical sessions, reflecting a wide range of topics including computer vision, machine learning models, AI-driven automation, and real-world problem-solving through intelligent systems.

The inaugural session was led by Dr. Raj Sandhu, Dean of Technology at AIBI Higher Education, Sydney–Melbourne, who served as the chief guest. In his address, Dr. Sandhu emphasized the growing global importance of deep learning and artificial intelligence, highlighting their transformative impact on education, healthcare, industry, and governance.

Joining him as a distinguished guest, Professor Dharam Singh from the Department of Computer Science at Namibia University of Science and Technology spoke about the social and industrial relevance of AI-based research, stressing the need for ethical, inclusive, and application-oriented innovation.

The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Professor (Dr.) K. R. Choudhary, former Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur. Drawing from his long academic career, Dr. Choudhary guided young researchers on conducting meaningful, high-impact research that contributes both to academia and society.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Nilanjan Dey from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Techno International New Town, Kolkata. His talk focused on emerging research trends in deep learning and visual artificial intelligence, offering insights into current challenges and future opportunities in the field.

Other expert speakers included Dr. Amit Joshi, Director of the Global Knowledge Research Foundation, Ahmedabad; Dr. Manoj Kudi, former Principal of Engineering College, Bikaner; and Dr. Vishal Gaur from the Department of Computer Applications, Engineering College, Bikaner. Their sessions explored interdisciplinary research, innovation ecosystems, and the integration of AI into education and industry.

During the valedictory session, Prof. Avnish Bora, Director of JIET, presented a comprehensive summary of the conference and highlighted the institute’s academic and research achievements. He noted that such international platforms play a crucial role in shaping future-ready researchers, fostering innovation, and strengthening global academic collaboration.

Earlier, Dr. Pratibha Peshwa Swami, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) at JIET, formally welcomed all guests, speakers, and participants, underscoring the department’s commitment to cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vishal Gaur, who acknowledged the contributions of speakers, reviewers, organizers, and participants for making the event a success.
