Jaipur: The Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology (JIET) celebrated a major milestone on Friday, hosting its first-ever Graduation Day with grandeur and pride. The ceremony marked not just an academic achievement for its students, but also a defining moment for the institution itself — becoming the first autonomous engineering college in Rajasthan to organize such an event.
Out of 323 undergraduate students from the Class of 2024, 232 attended the ceremony to receive their degrees, along with 81 postgraduate students from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 batches. The event also recognized excellence with the presentation of gold and silver medals to top-performing students in various academic categories.
The function was graced by Prof. Akhil Ranjan Garg, Vice Chancellor of Bikaner Technical University (BTU), who served as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Garg urged the students to contribute meaningfully to the environment and industry, and to help realize the vision of a self-reliant India by promoting indigenous products. “Success lies in responsibility — towards your profession, your country, and your planet,” he said, wishing all graduates a bright and purposeful future.
The Guest of Honor, Sushant Bhansali, CEO of Ambit Asset Management, emphasized discipline as the foundation of success. “Talent may open doors, but only discipline and perseverance keep them open,” Bhansali remarked, drawing on his own life experiences to inspire the young graduates.
Renu Singhi, Trustee of the Arun Shanti Educational Trust, reflected on JIET’s journey from its humble beginnings to its present-day stature. “When JIET was founded, it offered only four engineering programs with 240 seats,” she said. “Today, JIET Universe stands as a comprehensive education hub, spanning engineering, management, design, computer applications, and applied arts.” She added that new programs in pharmacy, nursing, and MBBS have further strengthened JIET’s presence, giving it “a unique identity not just in Rajasthan, but across India.”
Presiding over the event, Mayank Singhi, Chairperson of JIET Universe, praised the institution’s two-decade journey of growth and achievement. “From NBA and NAAC A-grade accreditations to gaining autonomous status in 2020, JIET has consistently set new benchmarks in education,” he said. Singhi also highlighted the college’s improved placement performance, noting a steady rise in both average and highest salary packages in recent years. “JIET’s success,” he added, “lies in its spirit of continuous experimentation and innovation.”
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Avnish Bora, Director of JIET Universe. He described JIET as a vibrant hub of innovation, research, and entrepreneurship, crediting its autonomous status with granting greater academic and administrative freedom while maintaining its affiliation with BTU for degree programs.
The event, conducted by Dr. Sandeep Mathur, was filled with pride, applause, and a sense of shared accomplishment — a day that will be remembered as the moment JIET’s journey as an autonomous institution came full circle.
