Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority has introduced e-Jansunwai, a digital grievance redress system designed to change how citizens interact with the urban body. The new mechanism allows residents to submit complaints, attend hearings and monitor outcomes without visiting JDA offices.

On the very first day of e-jansunwai, hearings were conducted in Zone-5, Zone-9 and the Enforcement Branch, setting the tone for the new system.

In Zone-5, a case involving a plot number discrepancy that was blocking a bank loan was taken up. The zonal deputy commissioner assured resolution within two days. A total of seven cases were heard in this zone.

In Zone-9, three complaints were taken up, with officials promising early action after hearing applicants online.

The Enforcement Branch handled an encroachment-related complaint, where the applicant acknowledged timely action by JDA officials and expressed satisfaction during the virtual hearing.

How e-jansunwai works

Under the new system, citizens register their complaints through an online portal. Once submitted, the application is automatically forwarded to the concerned zone or branch for examination. After initial scrutiny, the complainant is scheduled for a video-conference hearing with JDA officials.

During the virtual hearing, officers listen to the issue, seek clarifications if required and outline corrective action. The entire interaction is digitally recorded, creating an official record of proceedings.

Each complaint can be tracked online at every stage—from submission to resolution. If a matter requires additional time or field verification, the applicant is informed digitally. JDA officials say this ensures time-bound action while keeping citizens informed.

On the first day of implementation, hearings were conducted in Zone-5, Zone-9 and the Enforcement Branch. Issues ranged from plot documentation discrepancies affecting bank loans to encroachment complaints. Several cases were resolved on the spot, while others were given clear timelines for closure.

JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan, who personally participated in the hearings, said the initiative aims to reduce public inconvenience, improve transparency and fix accountability within the system. According to him, e-Jansunwai optimises both citizen and administrative resources.

The authority has announced that e-Jansunwai sessions will continue across multiple zones on a fixed schedule, covering engineering, enforcement and zonal offices throughout the day.
