Jawahar Nagar: Factory manufacturing fake menstruation medicines busted; 3 detained

Jaipur: The crime branch of Rajasthan police on Tuesday evening busted a factory involved in manufacturing fake medicines. The factory was being run out of a Housing Board house located in Jawhar Nagar area. The police have detained two people and are interrogating them. The factory was being run on the pretext of manufacturing Ayurveda medicines.
ADG, crime BL Soni said that a complaint regarding the factory was received from a Pharma company – Archies Life Science. The proprietor told the police that some people were using the logo and brand name of his company and were manufacturing bogus drugs at a house in Sector-3 of Jawahar Nagar.
The accused people were preparing bogus medicines for menstruation-related diseases. A special crime branch team was set up to probe the complaint and with the help of the local police a raid was conducted on Tuesday evening.
“Nearly 2,000 syrups were seized from the factory. The people running the factory were selling the medicines to an Agra-based firm. Bill books and stock registers were also seized from the spot. Two men – Narendra Kumar Sukhani (65) and his Agra-based partner Ravindra Pratap Singh – were taken into custody. An FIR under various sections of the Drug and Cosmetics Act and IPC has also been registered,” said the officer.
Soni added that a Jawahar Nagar police team seized the fake medicines from Sakshi Medical Store in Agra and detained the shop owner – Arvind Sharma – for further interrogation.
