Jaipur: On the occasion of 24th Foundation Day of ‘Jawahar Kala Kendra’ (JKK), a Hindustani Classical music concert was organized at the JKK Gardens. It was a musical feast to the audience to absorb the melodious voice of Professor Suman Yadav with the serenity of the Morning Ragas.
The programme began with a tribute to Padam Vibhushan Shrimati ‘Kishori Amonkar’.
Professor Yadav started the performance with Bada Khayal ‘Neend Na Ayye Sakhi, Piya Pardes Bhayilwa’ set to Ek Taal in Raga Gujari Todi; followed by Chota Khayal ‘Sajanwa Ayye’ in Raga Gujari Todi. The second presentation of this Morning concert was ‘Jaago Jagao Bhayi Bhor’ set to Teen Taal in Raga Nat Bhairav.
The programme was concluded by a soulful rendering of Kabir Bhajan ‘Saiyaan Nikas Gayi, Mai Na Ladee Thi Ram’ in Raga Mishra Bhairvi. Suman presented the Morning Ragas with a great command. Her perfect intonation, range and soulful presentation made the audience spellbound. More than 150 music lovers were enthralled with the divine experience.
The accompanying artistes were – Pundit Alok Bhatt (Harmonium), Mahendra Dangi (Tabla), Suruchi Budhwar (Taanpura) & Aarohi (Taanpura). The Additional DG of Jawahar Kala Kendra Mamta Rao felicitated the artistes.
