Jaipur: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Sunday arrested the Jalore municipal council commissioner Trikamdan Charan after he was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 to issue a land lease.

According to ACB officials, Charan allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from one Dayaram who complained about it to the agency.

“To issue a patta, Charan demanded a bribe of Rs 60,000. He took Rs 10,000 earlier and was demanding the rest of the money. After the complainant approached us, we laid a trap. The complaint was verified,” said an ACCB officer.

Dalaram went to Charan’s house to hand over the bribe money. As soon as he accepted it, the ACB team allegedly caught him red-handed.

“He has been arrested and booked under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act. Searches are going on his house and other places belonging to him,” said the officer.
