Jal Mahal Night Bazaar: Timings, Entry Fee, Food & Shops

JAIPUR: Many cities in India are known for their night activities. Jaipur has also joined the club with the inauguration of a night market (Night Bazaar) at Jal Mahal. Jaipur Municipal Corporation (Heritage) recently launched the Night Market at Jal Mahal. It is set to be one of the most popular destinations for shopping and food in the city not only among the local residents but also tourists because it’s located at Jal Mahal, known for its heritage and beauty.
From traditional Haat bazaar to modern shops, the visitors will get everything Jaipur is famous for in one place.
Jal Mahal Night Bazaar timings
After the successful trial, the night bazaar will open two days a week from 7 pm to 1 am. It means that the visitors will be able to soak in the beauty of the Jal Mahal in glimmering lights.
Jal Mahal Night Bazaar Entry Fee
The entry fee for the night market has been fixed at Rs 50 per person. The visitor will get a food coupon worth Rs 30 that can be used for buying food at any of the stalls in the market.
There was a controversy over the entry price because the visitors complained that it was too high. The entry fee to Chaupatis in Jaipur is only Rs 10.
Food stalls
The visitors will also enjoy Rajasthani, Punjabi and South Indian food. The artists will be seen doing the folk dance to promote Rajasthani culture. On the day of the trial, the artists performed Rajasthani dance, puppet dance, Rajasthani folk-geet, Rajasthani folk dance with dhol-nagade, kalbelia dance, Bhavai dance, Chari dance, Kachi Ghodi and Punjabi Dhol.
Jal Mahal Night Market Shops
Apart from 40 food stalls, there will be about 150 handicrafts and other types of shops. The people who arrived with the family also enjoyed the culture night. Jaipur is famous for a lot of items. The visitors will get most of these items at the bazaar in one place. These items include handicrafts, Jaipuri Quilts, Sanganeri bedsheets, traditional jewellery, brass, clay and copper pottery, blue pottery, Jaipuri jutis and Bandhej sarees.
A blue pottery shopkeeper told The PinkCity Post that the blue pottery made in Jaipur is famous worldwide. The blue pottery items are available from Rs 80 to Rs 6,000 at the market. Quartz stone is ground and shaped by mixing multani mitti, gum, rock salt. After making designs and colouring on that vessel, it is cooked in the furnace. After cooking, the ceramic glaze is applied to it for shining. It takes 40 days to make pottery.
