Jaipur: The Pink City is all set to shimmer as Jaipur’s most iconic markets prepare to light up for Diwali. Among the 26 markets gearing up for festive decorations, MI Road will take the lead — becoming the first to switch on its dazzling lights this evening.

More than 22,000 wishing lamps now adorn MI Road, transforming it into a radiant avenue of colors and celebration. The final testing of the decorative lighting was conducted on Wednesday evening, drawing the attention of passersby as the entire market came alive with vibrant hues.

“From today evening onwards, every market will begin its illumination phase, one after another, leading up to Diwali,” said Subhash Garg, president of the Jaipur Vyapar Mahasangh. “This year, along with traditional decorative lights, we have focused on creative lighting designs and new visual elements to make the markets even more inviting.”

The switch-on ceremony for MI Road’s decorations will take place this evening at Panch Batti Circle, themed around a radiant umbrella concept. Shoppers and visitors can expect a glowing welcome as they enter the market.

Elsewhere in the city, Chandpole Bazaar is preparing to unveil a spectacular ‘Operation Sindoor’ theme from October 18, featuring illuminated super-heroine cruise displays and a grand 15×45-foot light tunnel that promises to be a visual treat.

Similarly, Johri Bazaar traders are adding an artistic touch this year with towering high-mast poles showcasing hand-painted depictions of women, capturing the festive spirit and cultural vibrance of Jaipur.

As the countdown to Diwali begins, Jaipur’s markets are once again proving why the city is known for its timeless charm and luminous celebrations.
