Jaipur: Rail passengers traveling between Jaipur and Udaipur have been facing inconvenience after the Vande Bharat Express operating on this route was suspended. The train, which used to run six days a week and carried nearly 70 to 80 percent occupancy, has been discontinued after the rake was reassigned to operate the Udaipur–Asarva (Ahmedabad) Vande Bharat service.

The suspension has affected travel convenience between the two cities. Earlier, the Vande Bharat Express allowed passengers to leave Udaipur in the morning, reach Jaipur before noon, finish their work during the day, and return to Udaipur by evening on the same train. With the service no longer running on this route, that option is no longer available.

Currently, the main alternative for passengers traveling from Udaipur to Jaipur is the Intercity Express, which departs Udaipur at 6:00 am and reaches Jaipur around 2:05 pm. However, passengers now have to wait until around 3:05 pm to catch a return train to Udaipur. As a result, travelers often have to wait for nearly nine hours before they can begin their return journey.

Railway sources say that demand for trains on this route remains high, with several services already operating at more than 100 percent occupancy. Because of the limited options available during the afternoon hours, many passengers are facing difficulty planning same-day travel between Jaipur and Udaipur.

Passengers who frequently commute between the two cities for business, official work, or personal travel say the absence of the Vande Bharat service has significantly reduced the convenience of the route. Railway officials have not yet announced when or if the train will be restored on the Jaipur–Udaipur corridor.
