Jaipur to get its first ISRO ‘Space Academy Centre’ next month

the first regional space academy center will be opened in Jaipur next month. Various research works will be undertaken at these centers. New principles related to the space technology will be researched.

Jaipur: A Regional Space Academy Centre will be set up in Jaipur by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) next month. Jaipur is one of the six cities where such centers will be set up. The other cities are Patna, Guwahati, Banaras, Kurukshetra and Kanyakumari. The cost of the project in Jaipur will be Rs 2 crore.

According to ISRO director Kailasavadivoo Sivan, the first regional space academy center will be opened in Jaipur next month. Various research works will be undertaken at these centers. New principles related to the space technology will be researched.

Six new Space Technology Incubation Centers (STIC) will also be opened. The first space incubation center was established at Agartala, the capital of Tripura. It was inaugurated by Tripura’s chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb through remote from Bangalore on September 18.

More incubation centers will be opened in several cities including Jalandhar, Nagpur, Indore, Bhubaneshwar and Tiruchirappalli.

To honor the great scientists of the country, several small hubs will be opened by their names in six big universities of the country. The first hub will be opened in the name of scientist professor Satish Dhawan which will be inaugurated on October 11 at Jammu University. At Annamalai University, Dr Shrinivasan center will be opened, Said K Sivan, ISRO President.

The Indian Scientists who have largely contributed to the development of the country will be felicitated with centers of their names in different universities of the country.
