Jaipur: Unidentified thieves stole the car of Intelligence Bureau (IB) IG KC Meena from outside the official residence of the Rajasthan chief secretary in Jaipur.

The incident was reported around 7.30 am on Tuesday. After the police were informed, barricades were put up across the city and a massive search for the thieves was launched, but the car couldn’t be recovered till the reports last came in.

The IG’s driver Vinod has registered an FIR with Moti Dungari police station in this regard. Vinod stated in the complaint that he had parked the car outside the CS bungalow and went to the public toilets situated nearby. When he returned, he found the cars missing. He tried to find the car on his own for a few minutes and then informed the police around 8 am.

The Mootidungari police started a frantic search for the car immediately. They obtained the footages of CCTVs installed in the area. The footages showed the car at Ambedkar Circle.

The police registered the FIR around 3.30 pm when it could not be found by then. The police usually takes 2-3 days to register a case of vehicle theft, but since it was the official car of a senior police officer, the case was lodged within a few hours. The police fear that the car may be misused by the thieves.
