JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has recently announced an increase in registration fees for housing and commercial schemes.
The new fee structure introduces a standard fee specifically applicable to independent house schemes and commercial plots. However, this additional charge will not be levied on multi-story group housing projects.
According to the latest order issued by the RERA registrar, the current registration fees for residential plots stand at Rs 5 per square meter.
Similarly, for commercial, industrial, and mixed-use plots, the registration fee is also set at Rs 5 per sqm. The latest development means that the RERA will now charge a standard fee on top of the existing registration fees.
Effective from August 1, the standard fee will be Rs 5 per sqm for residential plots and Rs 10 per sqm for commercial, industrial, and mixed-use plots. This new regulation is applicable to all schemes seeking registration after the specified date.
The standard fee will apply to both private khatedari and private developer schemes, as well as government agency settlement schemes.
This means that municipalities, UITs (Urban Improvement Trusts), Development Authorities, RIICO (Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation), or Housing Boards launching schemes in the state will also be subject to the new fee.
The decision to implement the standard fee comes as RERA aims to streamline the registration process and ensure more equitable funding for overseeing independent house and commercial plot schemes.
By diversifying the fee structure, RERA intends to create a level playing field for all types of real estate development projects in Rajasthan.
