JAIPUR: In response to the recent instances of gangsters threatening business owners for extortion in the city over the past two months, the Jaipur Commissionerate has established an Anti-Extortion Cell.
The cell will function under the guidance of Additional Commissioner, Ajaypal Lamba. It has been staffed with 100 policemen divided into 15 teams.
The Anti-Extortion Cell’s management will be overseen by the cyber cell of the Jaipur police commissionerate, allowing for thorough monitoring of individuals involved in organized crime. The team of the Anti-Extortion Cell has already reached out to police departments across several states, including Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, and others, to take action against these criminals. This has hastened the effort to bring the gangsters to justice in Jaipur.
It has come to light that members of the Lorens gang, specifically Goldy Brar, Rohit Godara, and Ritik Bokser, have attempted to extort over Rs 20 crores from eight business owners in Jaipur over the past two months. These businessmen were given life threats.
However, the police have deployed security guards to protect the homes of all affected business owners. A manager of the G-Club in the Jawahar Circle area received a call, but it was not reported to the police. This resulted in the firing at his club.
