Jaipur: By paying your electricity bill online, you can win exciting cash prizes. In the latest initiative, Jaipur Discom is offering cash incentives to encounter online payment of electricity bills.
Officials said that a customer who paid Rs 20,000 for electricity bill online will be eligible to enter the lottery. A list of 100 such customers will be prepared and the person winning the lottery will get a maximum cash prize of Rs 5000.
Discom managing director RG Gupta said that customers can make the payment through the department’s website, PayTM, mobile app, net banking, debit or credit card, cash card, mobile wallet, ECS etc.
“100 people will be selected by a committee through online lottery system,” said Gupta.
The first lottery results will be announced on August 1.
The scheme is the part of the government’s initiatives to encourage people to make payments online.
“It will reduce crowd at payment windows and also save a lot of time. People have to waste time in queues in order to pay their electricity bills,” said the officer.
People can also pay their water bills online now.
