Jaipur: Nursing staff member commits suicide in NIMS Hospital premises

Jaipur: A 23-year-old girl, working as a nurse at NIMS Hospital in Jaipur, allegedly committed suicide in her hostel room situated on the hospital premises late on Thursday. The girl, identified as Anita Yadav, used a stole to hang herself. She was a member of the hospital’s nursing staff, a police officer said. No suicide note was recovered.

Anita Yadav, a resident of Dabla in Sikar’s Patan area, lived in A Block of Padmani Hostel in the NIMS Medical College premises. She committed suicide in her room number – 201.

A police officer of Chandwaji police station told The PinkCity Post that the hospital administration informed them about the suicide around 11 pm on Thursday.

A team was immediately rushed to the spot.

A security guard deputed at the hostel had to break open a glass window to gain entry into her room.

The girl had been dead by the time police reached the spot.

“We didn’t recover any suicide note. We are recording statement of her hostel mates and colleagues, members of the nursing staff to ascertain as to why she ended her life,” said the officer.

The girl’s family members arrived from Sikar.

A postmortem examination was being conducted till the reports last came in.
