Jaipur: Nursing college student dies in accident

Jaipur: A 22-year-old nursing college, identified as Surendra Gurjar student died after he fell off a low-floor bus at Bhankrota Chauraha in the city on Thursday. The mishap occurred when the bus rammed into another bus carrying tourists. The student was standing at the gate of the bus to get off. He lost balance after the low-floor bus hit the tourist bus and died on the spot. The police have registered an FIR against the bus driver.
Surendra was a resident of Kherli in Dholpur and was a student at a nursing college in Bagaru on the outskirts of Jaipur.
The mishap occurred around 3 pm. “Surendra was standing at one of the gates of the low-floor bus. A tourist bus approaching from behind hit the bus. Surendra lost balance and got stuck between both the buses. He sustained serious injuries following which he was rushed to a hospital. He died of excessive bleeding,” said a police officer.
The local residents and commuters tried to rescue him, but the drivers of the low-floor bus and the tourist bus were driving negligently. Some people informed the police control room following which a team from Bhankrota police station was rushed to the spot. The student was declared brought dead by the doctors.
“We have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the bus driver. Further investigation is going on,” said the officer.
