Construction of Phase 1A of the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation’s (JMRC) first line commenced on November 13, 2010. Spanning 9.63 kilometres, the most elevated section runs from Mansarovar to Chandpole Bazaar. After obtaining safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) in May 2015, the Jaipur Metro initiated commercial operations between Chandpole and Mansarovar on June 3, 2015.

Phase 1B of the project, which includes a 2.4-kilometre underground stretch from Chandpole to Badi Chaupar, was completed and began commercial service on September 23, 2020. This section features two underground metro stations at Chhoti Chaupar and Badi Chaupar, providing improved connectivity and transportation options to Jaipur’s residents and visitors.
