Jaipur: Two days after a 22-year-old MBBS student committed suicide in his hostel room at SMS Medical College, the police officials said the possibility that the youth committed suicide over a love affair couldn’t be ruled out. A suicide note typed on an iPad has been recovered by the police. The 5-page suicide note mentions a girl.
Aman Baragta, a resident of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, was a third-year MBBS student at the prestigious SMS Medical College in Jaipur. He was found hanging in his hostel room two days ago. The police were initially clueless about what caused him to take the extreme step, but a suspected suicide note has now been recovered from his iPad.
After apologizing to his family members including his parents, Aman wrote, “I come from a family where self-respect has priority over life. According to you, it may be a small thing. I am really sick. It’s not my fault, and neither is it hers. She left me single and did what she wanted. She created (a) mess. If it makes you happy, here I go”.
He further typed, “no matter how much I am dishonoured, I am giving away my life to prove this wrong. All will feel that I was the one who was wrong. But if I was wrong, you were also not right. The evidence that you would show to my friends would paint me in a poor light.”
He typed, “this is really shameful…There is a murderer behind every murder and there is a story behind anyone who commits suicide…”.
Addressing his parents, he wrote that he didn’t have any pressure of studies. He also referred to some of his friends in the note and then wrote that he started liking the girl who had narrated only half the truth. He requested his friends to visit his parents and told them that he was not weak.
