Jaipur: A 13-year-old student of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) – 8 situated in Jhotwara area committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of a room in his house late on Friday.

Lakshya was allegedly depressed over allegations that he had stolen a bicycle at his school. He had left suicide note in which he claimed innocence and was taking his life willingly. The police have launched an investigation.

Lakshya was a resident of Raigar Mohalla in Jhotwara. The boy’s father has alleged that Lakshya was accused of stealing a bicycle and was harassed at school for this.

The school administration officials were quoted as saying that the key had been found in the pocket of a child. Parents of two children were called for counselling. The officials said that they were not aware what the children did after leaving school.

The police have launched an investigation. The father alleged that Lakshya was depressed ever since he was accused of stealing the bicycle. In his alleged statemnt to the police, he said that Lakshya was deeply depressed over these allegations and it was the reason behind his taking the extreme step.

The police have recovered the suicide note and said that the statement of other students, teachers and school officials will be recorded during the course of investigation.

Earlier in May, a 14-year-old boy, identified as Nitant Raj Lata – who was a class 9 student at St Xavier’s School in Nevta – had committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at a room in his house on April 26.

The family members registered an FIR with Sodala police station on Wednesday, accusing the school’s physical training instructor (PTI) of harassment and inciting the student to commit suicide. The student reportedly left a suicide note in which he has mentioned the PTI.
