Jaipur: Jhotwara police arrest man for objectionable Facebook comment against IAF WC Abhinandan

A large number of people on Facebook protested against the accused Tauseef for his comment and reported the incident to the police.They gathered outside the Jhotwara Police station in Jaipur on Thursday and demanded his arrest.

Jaipur: Jhotwara police in Jaipur arrested a man identified as 30-year-old Tauseef Azhar for posting an objectionable comment on Facebook against the Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman on Thursday. WC Abhinandan will be released from Pakistan’s custody and will return to India on Friday.

The accused has been identified as Tauseef Azhar (30), a resident of Jhotwara in Jaipur. He works for a digital media agency, according to reports.

A large number of people on Facebook protested against the accused Tauseef for his comment and reported the incident to the police.  They gathered outside the Jhotwara Police station in Jaipur on Thursday and demanded his arrest.

The police took him into custody on Thursday and booked him under various sections of IPC. A special intelligence unit of Jaipur police Commissionerate is checking his social media activities.

According to the Police, the accused Tauseef used abusive language in his comment on Facebook and commented that the day Wing commander Abhinandan will die, he would celebrate Diwali.

As announced by Pakistan government on Friday, they will release the Wing Commander Abhinandan from their custody on Friday.

At a briefing in New Delhi, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said an Indian Air Force MiG-21 Bison was “lost” on Wednesday morning and one Pilot is ‘missing in action’ while thwarting Pakistani fighter jets that had entered Indian airspace in Jammu and Kashmir.
