Jaipur: The forest department officials have finally paid heed to the complaints of irregularities in booking of panther safari at Jhalana forest reserve in Jaipur. They said that norms are being made more stringent following these complaints. The activities of drivers and gypsy owners will be closely monitored now.

“Only the tourist would be able to buy tickets from the ticket window. The presence of driver and the gypsy owner has also been made mandatory at campus window at the time of the booking,” said a wildlife department officer.

When booking online for Jhalana safari, only one tourist was required to provide the ID and other details, but now it would be mandatory to provide IDs of all the tourists who would be in the gypsy booked for safari.

The ticket window will be open only half an hour before the start of the safari in the morning and an hour in the evening.

There were complaints that some drivers and gypsy owners were involved in selling tickets in the black market.

Advanced booking at higher price deprived tourists coming to Jhalana of enjoying safari at the specified rates.
