Jaipur: JDA accountant arrested for taking bribe of Rs 5000

Jaipur: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested Girdhari Lal Agarawal, an accountant of Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) after he was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 5000.
The accountant was allegedly demanding bribe to reduce the lease estimate amount. He was deputed in the Zone – 10. He was booked under various sections of the Prevent of Corruption Act. He will be produced in a court on Wednesday.
According to IG, ACB Sachin Mittal, one Indraj Meena had approached the agency and registered a complaint against Agarwal.
Meena had bought a shop in Automobile Nagar in Jaipur and applied for a lease deed in Zone Number – 10.
Agarwal told Meena that he would reduce the lease estimate amount if the complainant paid Rs 5000.
The ACB verified the complaint and laid a trap under the supervision of Add SP, ACB Jaipur rural Narottam Varma.
“He was caught red-handed accepting the bribe. He was arrested. Further investigation is going on,” said the officer.
