Jaipur: IPL auction 2019 highlights

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 auction held at JW Marriot in Jaipur started around noon on Tuesday. A total of 351 cricketers, including 226 Indian players were listed for the auction.

Jaipur: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 auction held at JW Marriot in Jaipur started around noon on Tuesday. A total of 351 cricketers, including 226 Indian players were listed for the auction.

The eight teams or franchise of IPL had a specific amount of budget to spend on bidding for players including KKIP with 36.20 crore, Delhi Capitals with Rs 25.50 crore, Rajasthan Royals with Rs 20.95 crores, Royal Challengers Bangalore with 18.15 crore, Kolkata Knight riders with 15.20 crore, Mumbai Indians with 11.15 crore, Sunrisers Hyderabad with 9.70 crore and Chennai Super Kings with 8.40 crore.

The 12th edition of IPL auction 2019 is being conducted in Jaipur for the first time. Many personalities including  Neeta Ambani with son Aakash Ambani and cricketer Zaheer Khan, and several sports personalities reached Jaipur to attend the auction.

Cricketer Jaydev Unadkat sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8.40 crore which is the highest till now. Unadkat was sold to RR for Rs 11 crore last year.

Highlights of IPL Auction 2019:

• Ishant Sharma sold to Delhi Capitals for Rs 1.10 Crore
• Lasith Malinga sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs 2 Crore.
• Jaydev Unadkat sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8.40 Crore.
• Akshar Patel sold to Delhi Capitals for Rs 5 Crore
• Yuvraj Singh, with a base price of Rs 1 Crore, remains unsold.
• Brendon McCullum, with a base price of Rs 2 Crore, remains unsold. Martin Guptill also remains unsold.
• Hanuma Vihari sold to Delhi Capitals for Rs 2 Crore.
• Varun Aaron sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 2.4 crore.
• Mohit Sharma sold to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 5 crore.
• Australian spinner Adam Zampa, Cheteshwara Pujara, and Manoj Tiwari remains unsold,
• Rahul Sharma, Adam Zampa, Khary Pierre and Fawad Ahmed remain unsold.
• Mohammed Shami sold to KXIP for Rs 4.8 crore
• Carlos Brathwaite sold to KKR for Rs 5 crore
• Axar Patel sold to Delhi Capitals for Rs 5 crore
• Jonny Bairstow sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 2 crore
• Shivam Dube, with a base price of Rs 20 Lakh, has been sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore at Rs 5 Crore.
• Varun Chakravarty, with a base price of Rs 20 Lakh, has been sold to Kings XI Punjab at Rs 8.40 Crore
• South Africa batsman Colin Ingram sold to Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.40 crore with a base price of Rs 20 lakh
