Jaipur: First list of Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) 2018 speakers released

The 12th edition of the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival hosted at Diggi palace will be held from January 24 to January 28 in 2019. Bollywood Actress Manisha Koirala, Netflix series Sacred Games author Vikram Chandra and many other national and international authors and directors will attend the event.

Jaipur: Jaipur Literature Festival 2018 organizers has released their first list of 30 speakers at the grand event at Diggi palace in Jaipur. A total of 250 speakers from varied fields will be interacting at JLF 2018, scheduled to held from January 24 to January 28 in 2019.

Bollywood Actress Manisha Koirala, Netflix series Sacred Games author Vikram Chandra and many other national and international authors and directors will attend the event.

The list of other speakers with the complete program timing and sessions will be released soon.

The 30 speakers include Alexander McCall Smith, Amin Jaffer, André Aciman, Andrew Sean Greer, Anish Kapoor, Anuradha Roy, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Colson Whitehead, Donna Zuckerberg, Germaine Greer, Hari Kunzru, Jeremy Paxman, Jon Lee Anderson, Juergen Boos, Manisha Koirala, Marc Quinn, Markus Zusak, Molly Crabapple, N.S. Madhavan, Narendra Kohli, NoViolet Bulawayo, Perumal Murugan, Priyamvada Natarajan, Rom Whitaker, Rupert Everett, Simon Sebag Montefiore, Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Uday Prakash, Upamanyu Chatterjee, and Vikram Chandra.

Some of the top speakers at JLF 2019

1. Alexander McCall Smith

The Author of The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series and The Sunday Philosophy Club series with nearly 100 books. He was a former Professor of Medical Law at the University of Edinburgh.

2. Amin Jaffer

Senior Curator of the Al Thani Collection, an encyclopedic holding of more than 6,000 works of art.

3. André Aciman

A memoirist, essayist and New York Times bestselling novelist, is Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature at the Graduate Center, CUNY.

4. Andrew Sean Greer

He is the New York Times bestselling author of six works of fiction, including the 2018 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Less.

5. Anish Kapoor

The recipient of numerous international awards, including the Turner Prize, he is well-known for this public sculptures and artworks around the globe.

6. Anuradha Roy

She is the author of An Atlas of Impossible Longing, The Folded Earth and Sleeping on Jupiter, which won the DSC Prize for Fiction 2016 and was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2015.

7. Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

She is an award-winning and bestselling novelist, poet, activist and teacher of writing.

8. Colson Whitehead

He is the author of nine books of fiction and non-fiction, including The Underground Railroad, which was a number one New York Times bestseller.

9. Manisha Koirala

Manisha Koirala is one of India’s leading film actors. She took a break from acting in 2012 to return five years later with the coming-of-age drama Dear Maya, Netflix’s Lust Stories and Sanju.

10. Vikram Chandra

He is the author of Geek Sublime, Sacred Games, which was adapted into Netflix’s first original Indian production, Love and Longing in Bombay and Red Earth and Pouring Rain.
