Jaipur Festival of Education to be held in August

Event will be a milestone in the development of education in Rajasthan: Chief minister Raje.

Jaipur: Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje said on Thursday the ‘Jaipur Festival of Education, Rajasthan’ will be a milestone in development of education in the country.

She said that the proposed 2-day festival in August 2017 is targeted for the teachers, students and educational institutes and aims at having a face-to-face interaction with the innovations and new cutting-edge technologies in education sector across the world so that these could be adopted here and Rajasthan could attract newer heights in the field.

Raje was chairing a high-level meeting at the chief minister residence on Thursday in regard to the preparation of the festival. This is a first of its kind event in the country. The government of Rajasthan and Dubai-based Gems Education Foundation are jointly organizing this festival.

Raje said Vice-Chancellors and others officials of universities, principals and teachers of schools and students from across the country and state would participate in this festival to enter a new age of education. She said that it was urgently required to have ‘out-of-box thinking’ for training of teachers and educating the next generation.

Raje said that the issues like how to make learning interesting; demystifing science; learning newer trends of technology; what all is possible in agriculture or innovative ways to manage water systems could be deliberated upon in during the various sessions during the festival of education. New ideas and innovations of teaching-learning would be discussed, she said. She added that all this would lead to positivity and enthusiasm in education sector all across, following which doors of employability and skill development would open for the new generation.

Chief minister said, “education could change only when all the stakeholders accept the new ideas and progress in that direction. She said that out of this the young people would be benefitted the most as they would learn newer ideas and technologies from the best of minds of education sector around the globe. When our youth, skilled with new techniques and innovations, work in various sectors such as industry, medical, technology etc, the entire country, the state and the society would be benefitted.”

The festival would be organized in other divisions of Rajasthan after Jaipur. She directed the officers of Higher Education, College Education and School Education to make preparations for this event. She said that educational institutes and teachers should adopt to the new thinking to make this event a success.

In the meeting, Secretary of Education Nareshpal Gangawar shared the details of objectives of the festival. Chairperson of the event Co-organizer Gems Education Group of India Amareesh Chandra gave a presentation on the festival.
