Jaipur: A 23-year-old BTech student disappeared from his house in Sanganer, then checked into a hotel room in Shyam Nagar area and committed suicide by hanging, according to the police. The police said that they have recovered a suicide note. He wrote that he was taking his life for his personal reasons and nobody else was responsible.

The deceased was identified as Rahul Kumar Jat, a resident of Vatika Road in Sanganer. He was a BTech student.

He had left home to appear in an examination at his college.

He didn’t return home even after his paper finished, so his family members called him up.

When his father couldn’t contact him, he somehow came to know that Rahul had checked into Hotel Jaipur Prime in Shyam Nagar area.

He called up the hotel and asked an employee to connect him with his son, but when Rahul didn’t respond even after repeated calls, a hotel employee went upstairs to check on him.

Rahul was found hanging.

A police team from Shyam Nagar police station arrived at the scene and got the body down. They took it to the mortuary of a hospital for postmortem examination.

The body was handed over to the family members.

It is third case of suicide by an engineering student in the city.

Earlier on May 14, an engineering student, Vijay Pal, hanged himself in Kukas. He was depressed as he secured poor marks.

On May 16, a 19-year-old BTech student fell to death from the third floor of an apartment building in Pratap Nagar. The deceased, Manoj Bairagi, a BTech second year student of JECRC, had come to visit his friend when the incident occurred. The police are investigating whether he fell accidently, but didn’t rule out the possibility that he ended his life.
