Jaipur: Drunken truck drive creates havoc, several injured
People alleged that the accident police station cops didn’t arrive at the spot for nearly an hour even after the truck driver was caught.

Jaipur: A man under the influence of an intoxicated substance drove a truck recklessly for nearly 10 km between Mansarovar and Haldi Ghati Marg in Jaipur on Sunday night and rammed it into at least a dozen cars and several bikes. Many people were injured.
The driver was drunk and the police and local residents had to chase the truck for several kilometers to stop it.
The incident happened around 9 pm when people were on their way to party venues for the New Year celebrations.
The truck was carrying tiles and was going towards Shahpura from Gujarat when the driver who was allegedly drunk jumped a red-light at Rajat Path in Mansarovar and rammed into 2-3 cars.
The truck then hit more cars on Vijay Path. Some policemen on patrolling duty spotted the truck and started chasing it. It jumped a red-light at B2 Bypass also and hit some cars and bikes.
Finally, the truck was intercepted at Haldi Ghati Marg near Pannadhay Circle.
“The truck hit more than a dozen cars and several bikes. Many people were injured. We have booked the truck driver under stringent sections of the law,” said a police officer.
