Jaipur: The district administration has increased the DLC rates of commercial properties by 15%. The move came shortly after the DLC rates for residential land was increased. The traders associations are protesting the hike saying that the markets are already reeling under a slowdown. The increase will cause the value of commercial offices and rent to go up.

The administration already knew that the decision would lead to protests, so the hike was not advertised. The traders associations came to know about the increase almost 15 days after the increased commercial land DLC rates in Jaipur came into force.

On MI Road, the new DLC rate is Rs 241776 per square meter.

The DL rate for land on Bhawani Singh Road near Rambagh Circle has gone up to Rs 90,460 per square meter. Similarly, the DCL rates has been increased to 74300 in some sections of Vidhyadhar Nagar where the road width is 30 feet.

In Malviya Nagar area, the new DLC rate for commercial land has gone up to Rs 89,550 where the road width is over 30 feet.

On Sawai Jai Singh Highway in Banipark, it has gone up to Rs 1,71,860.

The district administration released the list of new DLC rates for commercial land along with  the list of DLC rates for residential land on September 9.

“The administration informed the people about the residential land DLC rate increase. The DLC rates for commercial properties were increased in a hushed-up manner.  It’s definitely a deception,” said Dr Sunil Sharma, president of district bar association.
